3D Printing Services
The Lewiston City Library offers 3D printing services to inspire interest in the 21st century design and "making" tools. The library operates a Lulzbot Mini 3D printer and a larger Lulzbot Taz 6 3D printer.

You may download pre-made designs or use 3D modeling software to create your own design.

To print your creation at the Library bring a USB flash drive containing the object in .stl format to the Library's 2nd Floor Help Desk. Library staff will copy the .stl file and return the USB flash drive to you within minutes.

Library staff will print the objects. There is no charge for 3D printing services at this time. It may take up to 7 days for your request to be printed.

What to Print?

Thingiverse offers already made designs

Tinkercad offers free software to create your own designs

There are exceptions to what the Library will print. The following items will not be allowed:

-  Any item that is prohibited by law.
-  Copyrighted materials.
-  Weapons of any kind or anything deemed unsafe by library staff or volunteers.

Library staff or volunteers can deny any 3D printing request. Printing will occur during library staff working hours; print jobs longer than these hours will not be allowed. Items not picked after 7 days will become library property.

Have questions? Call the Library at 208.798.2525 or come into the Library. The printers are currently located near the 2nd Floor Help Desk.
