Temporary Vendor

"Temporary vendor" means the operation of a business on a vacant lot, outside of an enclosed building in the open air or under a canopy, tent or other membrane structure. This does not include those businesses operating in the open air or under a canopy, tent or other membrane structure on the premises of another licensed business, which licensed business is operating in a building as defined by Lewiston City Code, or those businesses governed by section 37-127 of Lewiston City Code.

Zoning

All temporary vendors are required to obtain a temporary vendor’s business license prior to engaging in business within the city. Temporary vendors are limited to operation in the C-3, C-4, C-5, C-6, Monday through 1, and Monday through 2 zones as defined by the city’s zoning ordinance and may not operate in any other zone within the city.

Business Time Period

No temporary vendor shall conduct business for more than 16 consecutive days and shall not conduct businesses for more than 16 days in any three-month period.
