Outdoor Storage of Personal Items (Including Cars)
The City of Lewiston regulates the number of inoperable cars and their placement on residential property. We have chosen not to regulate the number of operable cars a person may park on their property. An operable car runs and is street legal. If all the cars are operable, they may cover an entire property, yards and driveway.
This regulatory position was adopted after extensive community input. Outdoor storage of personal items that do not constitute litter or junk are also not regulated. Outdoor storage might include patio furniture, vending machines or stacks of building materials.
