The Lewiston Planning and Zoning Commission is appointed by the Lewiston City Council in accordance with the Idaho Local Land Use Planning Act. They are citizen volunteers who provide recommendations to the City Council on land use issues within the City.
The Commission holds public hearings on a number of land-use issues including zone changes, variances, conditional use permits, appeals, and comprehensive plan amendments. In addition, the Commission advises the City Council on long-range planning and land use issues. Depending upon workload and applications received for land-use decisions that require public hearings, meetings may either be a public hearing or work session. All meetings are open to the public. To watch meetings by Livestream and select Planning and Zoning.
