Computer Access & WiFi

The Lewiston City Library provides free access to public WiFi internet and computers. Access to the computers requires a library card number. If you do not have a library card, please see the help desk to sign up for a free library card. If you are visiting the area and do not have a local address, the library will provide you with a guest computer pass.

Help Computer Key

3D Printing Service

Public 3-D printing services has returned to the Lewiston City Library! This modern technology is here to inspire interest in 21st century design and "making" tools. The library operates a Prusa MK3 I3S+ printer.

*Please review the 3D Printer Policy and Procedures before submitting a 3D Print Request Form.

Requirements

  • Patron must have a valid library card
  • Patron’s library account must have $5> in fees and be in good standing
  • Patron must provide the .stl file(s) in a Compressed/Zip folder

Make a 3D model

Cost:

  • 5¢ per gram of PLA filament with a minimum charge of $1.00.
  • Print jobs more than one hour will incur a charge of 50¢ per hour.
  • Patrons are required to pay for print jobs at the time of pick-up.

Things to remember:

  • Print time must be less than 6 hours per print. 
    • If the print is comprised of more than one piece, each piece will be included in that time. 
    • If not all pieces can be printed within 6 hours, the rest of the pieces will go to the end of the queue as if they were a second print. 
  • The library is not responsible for the quality of the submitted .stl file or the resulting print. The patron assumes the risk of printing from an untried file and is responsible for any fees accrued from a failed print.
